Our Process

STEP ONE: Introductions

The first step is for us to introduce ourselves and get some initial information from you about your space, your overall aesthetic, timelines and budget. A quick phone call or email correspondence will usually suffice.

STEP TWO: Client Meeting

Next, we'll arrange to meet you in-person or via- video call to discuss your project. We'll ask questions to get a deeper understanding of your priorities, design intent, must-haves and nice-to-haves. We will use this to create our ‘Conceptuals’ which we will base our work and future conversations.

This initial design phase is FREE, and is a no obligation, personal, bespoke proposal for how we would approach your project, including inspiration photos, build methods and hand-drawn sketches that explore the ideas that have emerged so far; as well as rough, budgetary numbers. ‘Conceptuals’ DO NOT contain a finalized design or detailed estimate for your new kitchen or cabinet project - that is something we would work on, in collaboration with you, over the coming weeks and months, if you decided you would like to proceed. It does, however, give you a solid understanding of what you can expect from working with us, and how we would approach your project.

STEP THREE: Design

If you decide you’d like to proceed we get going with officially designing your dream kitchen. We will need accurate measurements to begin this phase which can be gathered through an on-site measure or by approved drawings from your builder, contractor or interior designer. We will also need to nail down your appliance package and countertop selections before beginning.

We will draft 2D elevations and room plans to ensure your space will function just the way you need. Considering each cabinets placement and interior layout.

We will arrange meetings along the way for you to see how the design is progressing, so you can make amendments and tailor the details until everything's just right.

STEP FOUR: Visualizations

Throughout the design stage we make 3D models and rendered visualisations, complete with realistic materials, colours, and shadows, so you can feel what it'll be like to live in your new kitchen.

STEP 5: Final ‘Walk-Through’

After the floor plan, layout and final material selections have been made, we will schedule an in person ‘walk-through’ of your cabinet project. We will go cabinet-to-cabinet to confirm accessory locations, lighting, integrated pulls and handles etc. to ensure there are no surprises come install day.

STEP 6: Sign Off

Once any final tweaks to the design have been made, we will have you sign off on the final iteration and approve a detailed estimate. We will also ask for the first deposit installment (15%) which covers the design costs and secures your calendar spot in our production/installation schedule.

If you decide at this point you would like to go elsewhere for your custom cabinetry, there are no hard feelings, and we will invoice you for the design work and hand over your custom package.

After this initial deposit and roughly 4-6 weeks prior to production, we will ask for a second deposit instalment (50% of total) to finalize and secure materials.

STEP 7: Building

Our small, dedicated team of craftsmen will get to work on making your kitchen by hand in our workshop.

We encourage you to visit ‘the farm’ during the making process so you can see the care and attention that goes into every part. We love what we do and showing you behind the curtain is interesting, fun and one of the many benefits of working with a small, custom shop.

STEP 8: Installation

When your new kitchen is ready for installation, we’ll confirm that you are ready to receive your cabinetry and ask for a third installment (90% of total) prior to delivery.

Installations usually take around 1 to 2 weeks. We work very hard to minimize disruption to your home and family life, so that you're set up and back in business as quickly as possible.

STEP 9: Completion

Once our team pops the last door on its hinges and makes our final adjustments, we will have your final bill for you (the remaining 10% of total) and happily walk you through your new kitchen. We will make note of any special instructions or cabinet cleaning/maintenance items.

We want you to be absolutely delighted and tell all your friends about us. That's why you'll have our personal mobile numbers, just in case you have questions, or anything's not as you'd expected.
